The average first Frost date is November 10th, for Mt. Ida, Arkansas.
The first frost date is very variable depending upon the micro-climate around your house.

Fall is THE time to plant trees and shrubs.
Needless to say, Fall is also a great time for Landscaping.

Prepare for the drab winter with lush evergreen shrubs. There are even some plants that will bloom in late winter!

If you've visited us in the fall before, you've seen our spectacular chyrsanthemums.
Not only will they light up your yard, patio, or deck, they are also perennials, so they will come back year after year (with a little care and mulch).

Rejuvenate the colors in your yard by replacing old, tired, flowers with fresh annuals that will do best in the cooler nights ahead.

Fall is a GREAT time for vegetable gardens!
Many vegetables are much sweeter when they mature in the cool weather of fall, and most of those are unfazed by a frost. Imagine fresh, sweet vegetables right out of the garden on Thanksgiving!

Fall Tomatoes are in and raring to go....
Plant small fruited varieties that mature sooner for them to finish before frost.
-or- plant them in containers so you can bring them in on those few nights when they could frost.
If you have container grown plants on a sheltered concrete patio, they could produce for a month longer!
